The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a new class of lightweight autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that can be easily deployed by personnel, as announced by the defence ministry. These AUVs feature advanced sonar and camera systems for real-time identification of underwater threats, utilizing deep-learning algorithms to streamline operations. Designed by the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory in Visakhapatnam, this innovation enhances mission efficiency.
