Indian Air Force aircraft crashes in Chennai, pilot ejects safely
Videos shared on social media showed debris of the aircraft strewn across the ground at the crash site as locals gathered at the scene.
An Indian Air Force aircraft has crashed near Tambaram in Chennai's Chengalpattu district. The ‘Pilatus PC-7' was reportedly on a routine training mission when it crashed. The pilot is managed to escape after ejecting the aircraftt safely.
News agency PTI shared a video of the crash site that showed debris of the crashed aircraft strewn across the ground as locals gathered at the scene.
The Indian Air Force later confirmed the crash saying that a probe has been ordered in the crash and no damage to life or property had been reported.
“An Indian Air Force PC-7 Mk II trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed at about 1425 Hr near Tambaram, Chennai, today. The pilot ejected safely, and no damage to civil property has been reported. A Court of Inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of accident,” IAF said on X.
