Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the turmoil in Kyiv signals a deepening political crisis driven by cascading corruption scandals, raising new doubts in Washington and Europe about the stability of the Ukrainian government. This came as Andriy Yermak, Zelensky’s most powerful aide, abruptly resigned after investigators expanded a major corruption probe targeting state energy contracts and business networks allegedly linked to senior officials. Yermak, long seen as the central figure shaping Ukraine’s wartime decision-making and foreign outreach, stepped down following raids on properties connected to top aides and associates. The investigation came after allegations of kickbacks, inflated contracts and the possible diversion of funds meant for critical wartime needs.
