5 Home-made pesticides for plants

Conventional pesticides often contain toxic chemicals that are harmful to both plants and the environment

You can make your own pesticide at home that is natural and organic. Here are some home-made pesticides for your plants that keep pests and insects away

Vegetable oil spray

Mix one cup of vegetable oil in water with 1 tbsp of paraben and sulfate-free liquid soap in a spray bottle and shake it thoroughly. Spray this liquid on plants affected by pests and insects

Tomato leaves insecticide

Soak fresh tomato leaves in 2 cups of water overnight. Strain the water into a spray bottle and spray it on plants affected by insects. Tomato leaves contain solanine and tomatine that kills insects

garlic spray

Mix garlic paste made from 2 garlic bulbs with 1 cup of water and leave it overnight. Strain the liquid into a spray bottle and mix it with 1/2 cup of vegetable oil. Use this liquid as an insect-repellent spray for your plants

Epsom salt pesticide

Dissolve one cup of salt in 2 cups of water and pour it into a spray bottle. Spritz this solution on pest-infected plants to get rid of pests and insects

Citrus spray

Grate the rind of a lemon and boil it with 2 cups of water. Strain the water in a spray bottle and leave it overnight. Spray this liquid on plant leaves to kill insects and pests
