These are the final set of state elections before next year's Lok Sabha polls, due in April-May. Together, as many as 679 seats are at stake across the five states: 230 (Madhya Pradesh), 200 (Rajasthan), 119 (Telangana), 90 (Chhattisgarh) and 40 (Mizoram).
The results will be declared on December 3.
Assets of re-contesting Telangana MLAs rose by 65% since 2018: ADR report
The assets of 103 MLAs contesting again in the assembly elections in Telangana increased by an average of 65% between 2018 and 2023, according to a report released by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and the Telangana Election Watch on Sunday.
“Of the 103 re-contesting MLAs, assets of 90 MLAs (87%) have increased ranging from 3% to 1331% and assets of 13 MLAs (13%) have decreased ranging from 1% to 79%,” the report stated. Read further.

Telangana elections: What is Rythu Bandhu Scheme?
The Election Commission of India has ordered the Telangana government to stop all the disbursements under the state government's Rythu Bandhu Scheme after a violation of the model codes of conduct.
