Rahul Gandhi, at poll rally in Gayaji, launched a scathing attack on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and PM Narendra Modi, alleging that they gifted unemployment to youth of the poll-bound state.

Rahul Gandhi in a poll rally in Aurangabad claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the youth “to become addicted to making reels, Instagram, Facebook” so that they “remain distracted.”

“... This is the new high (‘nasha’) of the 21st century. He wants such a scenario because this would ensure that the youth remain distracted, and do not hold his government accountable for their problems about education, health and employment,” PTI quoted Gandhi as saying.

Gandhi reiterated the ‘vote chori’ allegations against the NDA, and said that if the INDIA bloc is voted to power, they will be a “government of extremely backward, socially marginalised and Dalits.”

Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday promised an IT park at Darbhanga to provide employment to the youth, and a free health cover up to ₹5 lakh for 3.60 crore people.

Shah further said that if the NDA is voted to power in the state again, each district would get one medical college and one engineering college in the next five years.

The union home minister said that he was announcing from the Mahatma Gandhi's 'karma bhoomi' Champaran that naxalism would be wiped out of India by March 31, 2026. He also took a jibe at the Opposition in the state, saying murders, loots, kidnappings and extortion would be common in Bihar is if people make a mistake in November 6 polling.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday addressed a poll rally in Samastipur, promising bulldozer action similar to UP against gangster in Bihar. Yogi said that in UP, bulldozers “crush mafia” and their wealth is distributed among the poor.

Yogi said that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had ushered in an era of good governance in the state, adding that it was now time to build on that foundation, according to PTI news agency. Taking a jibe at the Opposition, Yogi alleged that those who are making “big promises” today have earlier robbed Bihar youth of jobs and taken the rights of the poor.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a poll rally in Aurangabad, alleged that Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar had turned the youth of the state into the labour force of the country.

“I travel across every state of India — Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra, Arunachal, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh — everywhere I go, I see the youth of Bihar,” Rahul said. While saying that the youth of Bihar works hard, he added, “Massive buildings, infrastructure, bridges, tunnels — who builds them? The youth of Bihar. Nitish ji has turned you into the labor force of the nation. Wherever you go, you have to work as laborers."

Rahul questioned whether the Bihar youth populations wants “this kind of future”, asking if they want to spend their lives doing labour. He further said that while Nitish had been running the Bihar government for the past two decades, it was “not moving forward.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in a rally in Aurangabad, repeated the ‘vote chori’ allegation against NDA. Gandhi claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah were indulging in “vote chori” because NDA knows it will not win the polls.

“Narendra Modi knows, and Amit Shah knows, that they cannot win the elections in Bihar. There’s only one way for them to win, by stealing votes,” Gandhi said.

“They stole votes in Maharashtra, Haryana, they stole Lok Sabha elections, and now they are trying to steal the votes in Bihar. But the people of Bihar are alert, no one can steal from the people of Bihar,” he added.

Gandhi further said that question paper leaks in Bihar are very regular, adding that these benefit the financially rich people, PTI news agency reported. He added that if the INDIA bloc is voted to power in Bihar, it would be government of extremely backward classes, socially marginalised, and Dalits.

Bihar deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary has alleged that while the NDA stands by whatever they have promised, the Mahagathbandhan is “making new announcements daily.”

“The way RJD is repeatedly making announcements, they have released their manifesto nearly one week ago, they made an announcement today and made one a year ago too. I think the RJD and Mahagathbandhan are confused, they don't think they will win, which is why they are making announcements daily,” Choudhary said.

The deputy CM said that the NDA had delivered its promises, with funds being transferred to Jeevika Didis' accounts. “We delivered what we decided upon. The funds are transferred to Jeevika Didis. They (Opposition) are misleading public. Not one rupee will be taken back from Jeevika Didis,” he said.

Amit Shah in Darbhanga alleged that Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Yadav were patronising infiltrators through “ghuspaithiya bachao andolan”. Addressing a poll rally in Madhubani, Shah said that the BJP-led NDA would drive out each illegal immigrant from Bihar, PTI news agency reported.

Addressing an election rally in Darbhanga ahead of the first phase of polling, union home minister Amit Shah said that three generations of RJD would not be able to “snatch” the funds transferred to ‘Jeevika Didis’. Shah further promised that if the NDA is voted to power in Bihar, they would spend ₹26,000 crore to harness Koshi river water to irrigate 'Mithilanchal'.

RJD leader Rohini Acharya on Tuesday said that her brother and the Bihar CM face for the Mahagathbandhan alliance Tejashwi Yadav fulfills his promises.

“Whatever Tejashwi says, he does. The best example for this is when he said he would give 10 lakh jobs before becoming deputy CM. And when he took over the post, he gave 5 lakh jobs,” Acharya, who is also Tejashwi's sister, told PTI news agency.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday refused to say anything further over AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's criticism over his “extremist” remark. “This is not an issue right now,” he said.

The AIMIM had posted a purported clip of Tejashwi saying there is "no space for extremist" in the Mahagathbandhan, in response to a journalist's question on why the alliance wasn't welcoming Owaisi.

“Today an interviewer asked Tejashwi Yadav why he didn't align with Owaisi. Tejashwi said that Owaisi is an extremist, a fanatic, a terrorist... I ask Tejashwi, 'babu extremist ko tum zara angrezi mein likh ke batatdo'... He calls me an extremist because I follow my religion with pride,” ANI news agency quoted Owaisi as saying.

BJP leader and former MP Smriti Irani in a rally in Bihar's Patna said it was a “matter of pain” for her that the RJD had written to the Election Commission to stall the benefits of women beneficiaries in the state.

“For me, it’s a matter of pain that on one hand, the NDA government is directly transferring money into the accounts of women beneficiaries in Bihar, while on the other, RJD leaders have given a written proposal to the EC to stall the benefits,” Irani said.

This comes after RJD MP Manoj Jha wrote to the poll body on October 31, and accused the NDA government in Bihar of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by transferring money to women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana on October 17, 24 and 31, according to PTI.

BJP MP Ravi Kishan alleged that the Mahagathbandhan would face defeat in the Assembly elections in Bihar, adding that they are “announcing new schemes every day to improve their image.”

“Once they realised that a big loss is inevitable, they started making desperate efforts. Many RJD seats are also expected to be won by the NDA this time. There is a strong wave in favour of the NDA,” PTI quoted Kishan as saying.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in Patna said that if voted to power, INDIA bloc would make electricity for irrigation free.

“The announcement we made for farmers today, as soon as we form the Government, we will make the electricity for irrigation free. PACs will be given the designation of public representatives. ₹300 and ₹400 respectively in addition to MSP will be given for paddy and wheat,” PTI quoted Tejashwi as saying.

In a press conference in Patna, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav promised ₹300 per quintal of paddy and ₹400 for wheat, as well as financial assistance of ₹30,000 for women on Makar Sankranti next year if INDIA bloc is voted to power.

In a press conference in Bihar's Patna on Tuesday, RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan's CM face Tejashwi Yadav said that farmers would get ₹300 per quintal of paddy and ₹400 for wheat as bonus if INDIA bloc is voted to power in the state, PTI news agency reported.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with women workers of the BJP in Bihar under the party's 'Mera Booth Sabse Majboot' initiative.

In a post on social media platform X, Modi said he would hold the interaction at 3.30 pm. “Women's power in Bihar is working with extraordinary energy and commitment to ensure the victory of the BJP-NDA in the assembly elections,” Modi said in the post in Hindi.

As the campaigning for Phase 1 of the Bihar Assembly election ends today, political heavyweights from parties are gearing up to reiterate their poll pitches to the voters.

Union home minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda and Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta will address rallies today. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, RJD leader and Opposition's CM face Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and campaigners from AIMIM, an Shakti Janata Dal, and Jan Suraaj Party will also address voters in Bihar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the penultimate day of campaigning for the first phase of the Assembly polls in Bihar on Monday, jibed at the RJD and Congress over “jungle raj.”

“The dictionary of RJD and Congress is filled with words like katta, cruelty, bitterness, bad manners, bad governance, and corruption. This is all they learned in the school of Jungle Raj,” PM Modi said, according to ANI news agency.

Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in a press conference in Patna questioned Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's absence from PM Modi's rallies. “You should be talking about generating employment, bringing investment, improving education and not abusing the Congress,” Kharge further said.
