Indian Oil to Reliance go easy on Russia crude oil as 50% US tariffs loom

Indian refiners, including Indian Oil and Reliance Industries, plan to reduce oil purchases from Russia to 1.4-1.6 million barrels per day, down from 1.8 million, amid rising U.S. tariffs. This move signals compliance with U.S. pressure without severing ties with Moscow, as India faces scrutiny for increasing Russian oil imports since the Ukraine conflict began.
