Months after putting on hold bookings for the diesel variant of Innova Crysta, Toyota has announced these would be opened soon. In August, bookings for Innova Crysta diesel variant were suspended temporarily because of long waiting period.

On Friday, at the unveiling of Innova Hycross, the new generation of Innova, Vikram Kirloskar, Chairman and MD of Kirloskar Systems, confirmed bookings for the Crysta diesel variant would begin soon.
Toyota manufactures and sells its vehicles in India in a partnership with the Kirloskar Group, through a joint venture called the Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
Meanwhile, according to HT Auto, Crysta's diesel engine model would go on sale alongside the new Hycross, for which the Japanese carmaker has opened bookings at a token amount of ₹50,000, with the deliveries slated to commence in mid-January.
Innova Crysta is priced between ₹16.26 lakh and ₹24.99 lakh. Also, while the company is yet to reveal the pricing for Hycross, the upcoming model is positioned as a premium product and, therefore, may cost substantially more than Crysta.

As of now, the car is being sold only with a petrol engine, which is a 2.7-litre unit and produces maximum power output and peak torque of 166 Ps and 245 Nm respectively. The 2.4-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, generates 150 Ps of maximum power output and 360 Nm peak torque.
