Tesla’s ‘Full Self-Driving’ Beta available for all in North America: Elon Musk
The feature was gradually rolling out since 2020 for select customers and required drivers to touch a minimum safety threshold with Tesla’s built-in Safety Score feature and covering 100 miles applying the Autopilot.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday announced that “Full Self-Driving” Beta feature is now available to anyone who’s paid for it in North America.
The feature was gradually rolling out since 2020 for select customers. But earlier it required drivers to touch a minimum safety threshold with Tesla’s built-in Safety Score feature and covering 100 miles applying the Autopilot.
Musk tweeted, “Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta is now available to anyone in North America who requests it from the car screen, assuming you have bought this option. Congrats to Tesla Autopilot/AI team on achieving a major milestone!”

Autopilot
It has the following functionality and features:
Traffic-Aware Cruise Control: Maintains the speed of the car to that of the surrounding traffic
Autosteer: Help steer within a precisely marked lane and runs traffic-aware cruise control
Enhanced Autopilot
Besides the functionality and features of Autopilot, Enhanced Autopilot also covers:
Navigate on Autopilot: Actively guides the car from a highway’s on-ramp to off-ramp, also recommends lane changes, handles interchanges, automatically engages the turn signal and selects the correct exit.
Auto Lane Change: Helps move to an adjacent lane on the highway when the Autosteer is engaged.
Autopark: Assists in automatically parking the car with a single touch.
Summon: Shifts the car in and out of a narrow space using the mobile app or key.
Smart Summon: The car will handle more complex situations, navigating around objects to come into a parking lot.

Full Self-Driving Capability
Besides the functionality and features of Autopilot and Enhanced Autopilot, Full Self-Driving Capability also has:
Traffic and Stop Sign Control (Beta): Recognises stop signs and traffic lights and automatically slows the car to a stop on approach
Upcoming: Autosteer on city streets
However, Tesla warns that active driver supervision is needed while using these features.
