Punjab will not be able to establish any new government medical colleges this year, impacting MBBS aspirants, as the deadline for applications for 2026-27 approaches. The state lacks essential certificates needed by the National Medical Commission for the application process. Currently, Punjab has only four state-run medical colleges and many students seek education abroad.
