‘One-year term too short’: Kataria bats for extending mayor’s tenure to two-&-a-half yrs
UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria supports extending the Chandigarh mayor’s tenure to at least two-and-a-half years, recognizing the current one-year term as too short for effective project execution. This follows MP Manish Tewari’s bill proposing a five-year term for key municipal posts. The mayor's term was set at one year since the MC's formation in 1994.
