Guru Nanak Dev University has proposed that the United Nations designate October 24 as the “Day of Universal Conscience” in honor of Guru Teg Bahadur, recognized as a defender of freedom of conscience. This initiative is supported by the Amritsar Declaration, endorsed by 70 scholars during a national seminar. The university's vice-chancellor has submitted the proposal to UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
