The Punjab government has approved a project to repair and upgrade over 18,000 km of roads by March 2026, supplementing ongoing repairs of 12,000 km. Funded by ₹3,000 crore from the central government, tenders are already floated. This initiative is timely, as upcoming elections may impose a code of conduct that halts new projects.
