Rural body elections: Low voter turnout in Ludhiana

Ludhiana's zila parishad and block samiti elections saw a low voter turnout of 46.6%, with 580,474 of 1,245,275 registered voters participating. While minor incidents occurred in Dakha and Phullanwal, polling remained largely peaceful. Cold weather was cited as a reason for the poor turnout. A total of 885 candidates contested for 25 zila parishad and 235 block samiti seats.
