The Himachal Pradesh High Court ruled that requesting an explanation in an official capacity does not amount to "abetment to suicide," granting anticipatory bail to Harikesh Meena, former HPPCL managing director, linked to engineer Vimal Negi's death. Despite family claims of harassment, the court found insufficient evidence connecting administrative lapses to the suicide, making bail absolute.
