Birth certificate to be issued before discharge, linked with Aadhaar in Delhi

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is reforming birth certificate issuance by providing physical copies to parents before discharge from hospitals, integrating it with DigiLocker and Aadhaar generation. This initiative aims for 100% compliance, covering over 90% of institutional births. In 2024, Delhi recorded 306,459 births, with 96.09% institutional.
