Stuck projects, pending proposals in Delhi: Why MCD operations are in limbo
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been left in a state of paralysis since elections over six months ago, with proposals stuck in waiting lists. The inability to get a standing committee and other panels in place, due to a bitter political tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has created a backlog of over 70 key policy proposals that urgently need to be addressed. These include new parks for dogs, clearing procurement of insecticides, hiring agencies for toilet upkeep and clearing layout plans for major infrastructure projects.
