A Delhi trial court granted former JNU student leader Umar Khalid a two-week interim bail to attend his sister's wedding, allowing him to be released from December 16 to 29 under specific conditions. Khalid, accused in the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy, has been in custody since September 2020. The Supreme Court is reviewing his bail plea due to prolonged incarceration.
