With over 247 mohalla clinics shut down, the Delhi government is considering repurposing their porta cabins into night shelters for the homeless. DUSIB has requested funds for refurbishments, estimating monthly operational costs of ₹1 lakh per shelter. Legal and maintenance challenges complicate the transition, following recent closures of clinics launched in 2015 to enhance healthcare access.
