Forest dept plans ₹11-lakh revamp of Asola Bhatti turtle pond amid breeding boom
The Delhi forest and wildlife department plans to enhance the turtle pond at Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary due to a surge in turtle population since its establishment in 2022. A ₹11.06 lakh tender is set for renovation, including planting 500 new plants and habitat improvements. The sanctuary houses over 250 turtles, including four Indian species, rescued from illegal trade.
