Crackdown on Lko power defaulters: Door-to-door recovery drive launched, to target consumers owing ₹50k

Uttar Pradesh’s power distribution authorities will disconnect consumers with unpaid bills exceeding Rs 50,000, leveraging computer systems to identify defaulters. This initiative targets 2.25 lakh consumers, aiming to recover Rs 75 crore. Consumers will receive reminders and can opt for part payments before disconnection. Historically, some avoided payments through corrupt practices with contract workers.
