Former Indian Police Service officer Amitabh Thakur was arrested for a 26-year-old industrial plot fraud case from his tenure as superintendent of police in Deoria. Accusations include abusing his position to facilitate the allotment of a plot using forged documents. Thakur’s wife claims it’s a civil dispute turned criminal. He has a history of clashes with political authorities.
