BJP minister’s daughter gets grant from Centre, alleges Congress
The Congress party in Assam has accused a company owned by Supriya Gavit, daughter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) minister Vijay Kumar Gavit, of receiving a grant under the ruling party's agro-processing clusters scheme. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries reportedly granted ?10 crore ($1.34 million) to Gavit's firm, Reva Tapi Valley Industrial Development. The Congress party has accused the BJP of using government funds for the benefit of its own members. Gavit has defended her daughter's firm, stating that it received approval for the project in 2019, before Gavit became a minister.
