The Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra plans to contest four of nine municipal corporations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region together, while opting for independent contests in the remaining five. The BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena will cooperate in key municipalities but prefer solo campaigns elsewhere to maximize seat gains ahead of elections scheduled for January.
