In the upcoming local body elections, the ruling Mahayuti alliance will contest together in some Mumbai Metropolitan Region municipalities while going solo in others. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis indicated that BJP and Shiv Sena would collaborate in certain areas but may compete independently in others, based on local dynamics. The elections are set for January, with 29 municipal corporations involved.
