Customs officer, hawaldar get 3 years in jail for accepting ₹5-K bribe
A superintendent and a hawaldar from Air Customs have been sentenced to three years in prison for accepting a bribe of ₹4,000 ($56) from a cinematographer. The two officials demanded the bribe in exchange for granting export certificates for camera equipment being carried to Qatar. The case was registered in February 2019 after the complainant returned to India. The CBI recovered mobile phone footage of the incident, which was used as evidence against the accused.
