The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will introduce double-decker buses to alleviate traffic congestion, initially deploying 10 buses on the busy Ghodbunder Road. This initiative aims to reduce private vehicle usage and enhance public transport appeal, with plans for 100 new CNG buses by March 2026 and 303 electric buses by December 2026. TMC currently operates 424 buses.
