The National Green Tribunal has mandated Uttar Pradesh's forest authorities to prevent further illegal tree felling following the illegal cutting of 980 trees in Greater Noida. The tribunal directed UPSIDA to secure the area and ordered compensatory afforestation. Past violations involved individuals associated with M/s Shakuntalam Land Craft Pvt. Ltd., with ongoing legal proceedings related to the incident.
