Maharashtra’s government will move forward with the long-awaited recruitment of professors using a new 60:40 merit-based evaluation formula, resolving previous delays. The initial phase allows for the hiring of 5,012 out of 12,000 vacant positions. The system allocates 60 marks for academic credentials and 40 for teaching ability, replacing an outdated formula.
