England's Joe Root celebrates his century during the second Ashes cricket test match.

Joe Root ended his century drought in Australia by scoring his first Test ton on the opening day of the second Ashes Test at the Gabba, Brisbane. Matthew Hayden, who had expressed confidence in Root, celebrated the milestone, as did his daughter, Grace. England posted 325/9 by day's end, with Mitchell Starc taking six wickets.
