Tezpur University: Students stage 9-hour hunger strike demanding VC's removal

Tezpur University students staged a nine-hour hunger strike demanding the Ministry of Education respond to their calls for the removal of Vice-Chancellor Shambhu Nath Singh over alleged financial irregularities. The university has been shut down since late November. Stakeholders, frustrated by the MoE’s silence, warned of intensified protests if action isn’t taken. Tensions have escalated since September.
