13 new bush frog species discovered across Northeast India: Study
Thirteen new species of bush frogs were identified in northeastern India, marking the largest vertebrate discovery in over a decade. The research, published in Vertebrate Zoology, involved samples from 81 locations. Conducted by scientists from WII and UK institutions, the study highlights biodiversity gaps in protected areas and calls for urgent conservation measures amid rapid deforestation.
