A bus traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire on NH-44, killing 19 people. It reportedly ran over a bike from a prior accident, igniting a blaze exacerbated by exploding lithium batteries from a shipment of mobile phones and the bus's AC system batteries. Eyewitnesses noted popping sounds, suggesting a rapid escalation of the fire.
