4% of Assam voters marked for deletion

The Election Commission of Assam plans to delete 1.06 million names from the electoral rolls after a house-to-house verification, resulting in 25,109,754 registered voters. Reasons for deletions include deaths, address changes, and duplicate entries. The process allows for claims until January 22, 2026, ahead of the February 10 final roll publication, amidst ongoing NRC updates.
