The Union government reported 64 fatalities from 45 bus fire incidents over the past three years, with Rajasthan experiencing the highest toll of 45 deaths. Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh followed with nine and eight incidents, respectively. Measures to enhance bus safety have been implemented, including fire extinguisher requirements and revised safety standards. This data was shared in the Rajya Sabha in response to concerns raised by AAP lawmaker Narain Dass Gupta.
