Agreements worth ₹3,000 cr signed for development of inland waterways in Northeast
The Inland Waterways Authority of India has signed agreements worth Rs 3,000 crore to enhance industrial connectivity in the Northeast, during the India Maritime Week 2025. Key projects include river cruise tourism development, improved cargo transportation, and safety enhancements along National Waterway 2. The initiative aims to transform waterways into engines of growth, as stated by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
