Assam sub-committee on implementation of Assam Accord to finally submit report

A sub-committee in Assam will submit its report on implementing the Assam Accord’s recommendations, focusing on constitutional safeguards for Assamese people. The eight-member team, led by Minister Atul Bora, identified 67 recommendations, with 40 actionable by the state. The Assam Accord, signed in 1985, aims to protect Assamese identity but has unresolved provisions under Clause 6.
