Congress urges state not to give screening permission for film ‘The Kerala Story’
The Congress party has urged the Kerala government to deny permission for the screening of the controversial film, The Kerala Story. The party claims the film, which is set to be released on 5 May, is full of lies and paints the Muslim community in a bad light. The Democratic Youth Federation of India, the youth wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has also criticised the film, claiming that it is being used to humiliate the state and the wider community. The film is based on the 2016 case of 21 people from north Kerala who are believed to have joined ISIS.
