From 21 members to five in a year: Top Maoist command decimated
The Communist Party of India (Maoist) has seen its central committee membership plummet from 21 to just five this year, according to Chhattisgarh Police. The decline includes 11 deaths and numerous surrenders of key leaders. As security forces intensify operations against Left-Wing Extremism, the remaining members, all over 60, face dwindling support and resources.
