Gujarat government rejigs entire cabinet, appoints 26 new ministers. See full list
The BJP-led Gujarat government on Friday announced a new cabinet with 26 ministers.
The BJP-led Gujarat government on Friday appointed a new cabinet with 26 ministers, including cricket Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba Jadeja. The development comes just a day after the entire cabinet, barring chief minister Bhupendra Patel, submitted its resignation.

Besides Rivaba Jadeja, Swaroopji Thakor, Pravenkumar Mali, Rushikesh Patel, Darshna Waghela, Kunvarji Bavaliya, Arjun Modhwadia, Parshottam Solanki, Jitendra Waghani, Praful Pansheriya, Harsh Sanghvi and Kanubhai Desai have also become a part of the new cabinet.
A senior BJP leader said that the ministers were told to submit their resignations by Thursday afternoon to give the CM and the party leadership a free hand for what has been described by a party leader as a "strategic reset" ahead of the local body polls and the 2027 state assembly election, HT reported earlier.

Patel's now-previous council of ministers included eight cabinet-rank ministers, two ministers of state (independent charge) and six ministers of state.
CM Patel had met Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat on Thursday evening and submitted the list of new ministers. The new cabinet was sworn in on Friday, and BJP's Harsh Sanghavi has been named the new deputy Chief Minister. The portfolios of the other 25 leaders are yet to be announced.
