India expects colder January, lifting winter crop prospects
India is expected to experience below-average temperatures in January, which may boost yields for winter crops like wheat, rapeseed, and chickpeas, according to the India Meteorological Department. An increase in cold-wave days is anticipated across central and eastern regions. Farmers have planted crops on 61.4 million hectares, reflecting a 1.1% increase from last year.
