Air India Flight 117 experienced an unexpected deployment of its emergency power system during landing in Birmingham, part of a global trend affecting Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Boeing reported 31 similar incidents linked to a faulty locking mechanism in the ram air turbine (RAT). Air India is reviewing its fleet, with 19 of its 32 aircraft lacking necessary modifications.
