Kerala has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the central government to join the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme, aiming to transform 14,500 government schools into model institutions. This marks a policy shift for Kerala, which previously opted out due to concerns over the National Education Policy. The initiative is expected to benefit 1.8 million students.
