The Manipur government has resettled 257 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from a Bishnupur relief camp, amid ongoing protests for rehabilitation. Deputy commissioner Pooja Elangbam noted the return signifies progress towards societal peace. The government established committees to oversee IDP rehabilitation following ethnic violence since May 2023, which displaced over 50,000 individuals and resulted in 260 fatalities.
