A Maoist with a Rs 5 lakh reward, Fagnu Madvi, was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, during an anti-Maoist operation. Security forces seized weapons and equipment at the site. Police reported that 285 Maoists have been killed in 2023, highlighting ongoing efforts to diminish the Maoist presence in Bastar.
