No need for routine KYV for cars once FASTag issued, decides NHAI; plugs gaps

The NHAI will discontinue routine Know Your Vehicle (KYV) verification for cars issued FASTags, effective February 1, enhancing public convenience and reducing harassment. Verification will now occur only upon complaints. Banks must complete ownership checks before activation, ensuring compliance with VAHAN database, while commercial vehicles remain exempt from this change.
