Over 17 lakh dead voters found on electoral rolls in Gujarat during SIR

A Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Gujarat's electoral rolls has uncovered over 17 lakh deceased voters still listed, according to the Chief Electoral Officer. The exercise began on November 4 and will continue until December 11, with over five crore enumeration forms distributed. Notably, 30 lakh voters have permanently migrated, and 6.14 lakh were absent from their addresses.
