The apex court order comes a day after the Election Commission announced the schedule for Bihar assembly elections, which is set to begin from November 6.
A bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi was hearing the petitions challenging the SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar. The court has adjourned the hearing till October 9.
During the hearing, the poll body said that no complaint or appeal has been filed till now by any excluded voters. The court asked the poll agency to provide it with details of 3.66 lakh excluded voters from final electoral roll prepared under recently-concluded exercise.
The Election Commission on September 30 released the final voter rolls for Bihar and excluded 47 lakh names that were on the rolls before the SIR began. Out of the total number, 3.66 lakh were further removed removed after scrutiny found them ineligible.
