The Supreme Court collegium has recommended new chief justices for five high courts, notably overlooking Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai for Sikkim amid controversy over her administrative actions against predecessor Justice Somadder. Justice A Muhamed Mustaque was favored instead. The collegium also appointed justices for four other high courts, with some positions still pending.
