The Telangana government unveiled a statue of legendary playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam at Ravindra Bharati cultural centre despite threats of vandalism from activists. State minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu highlighted SPB's impact on Indian film music. Critics opposed the statue due to SPB's refusal to sing a pro-Telangana song during the agitation for statehood.
